A highly carved decorative fragment of rinceau surrounding flowering plants, the scrolling chain incorporating birds, and a small cartouche with faded painting, likely a coat of arms. We have attributed this decorative object as Spanish, as it was purchased from a Spanish dealer and bears a label with Spanish writing. The style, however, can be safely attributed to Southern Europe.
