A nicely scaled, petite 19th century French Empire mahogany commode, with a black marble top over three drawers and decorated with simple ormolu decoration. We like this commode because of its simple, neoclassical lines, reminiscent of the Louis XVI taste, but presented in rich, dark mahogany with gold tone mounts, features of the Empire era.
