A Louis XVI armoire, from Bordeaux, having an arched and deeply molded cornice over a frieze centered with a finely carved rosette. Doors conforming to the cornice, and having central panels with asparagus fluting. The canted rails and center faux dormant also fluted. On exceptionally well carved "snail toe" feet extending from rosettes and acanthus leaves.
Interior fitted with drawers (original, or early 19c), and shelves (later). Pegs protruding and worn and side rails very slightly bowed as befitting its age. Back legs repaired (see photographs), lock original.
