A rare pair of early 19th century Louis XVI style mirrors, each with an oil on canvas portrait of a lady with a bird, each portrait topped with a symmetrical gilded ribbon tied in a bow.  The portraits and mirrors are in nicely molded gilt wood frames set on a painted backing.  Out of an abundance of caution, we have dated these mirrors as early 19th century, though the canvas of the paintings, the carving and glass indicate they may be period Louis XVI mirrors dating from the last quarter of the 18th century.
