An oval shaped gilded fragment with a bas relief carving of a standing, robed figure with a staff and a shield bearing the figure of a lion. This carving has a keyhole and holes, verso, from nails used with small hinges, and was likely a small door on an altar or piece of furniture. The carving would be attractive hung with artwork, or mounted for tabletop display.
