A 17th century Flemish tapestry depicting a meeting between soldiers and ladies, behind them, the soldiers' encampment and a walled town, the fortified town presumably that of the ladies. The clothes of the subjects are highly figured and detailed, and the tapestry overall has finely detailed verdure. The primary scene is surrounded with a verdure border, each side of the border having an arched niche with a robed male figure standing on a column pedestal.
Measures: 104" high x 120" wide
Condition overall very good to excellent, the tapestry backed with an acid free linen and with a hand stitched velcro strip at the top for mounting.
